Kay’s Story ‘I started volunteering just over 7 months ago, it's something I’d always considered but never saw myself doing due to lack of confidence and I never knew how or where to start. I saw volunteering at Doorway a great path into a career in support work and care for young people. I’ve witnessed people I know be led down a path they couldn't escape, people I care about give up. I’ve experienced times in my life where I lost hope, felt alone, didn't have a voice, and made mistakes, been someone I didn't want to be. But there is hope, and that's why I volunteer because I want to help young people see that their lives now don't have to be that way forever, that people do care, and change is possible.’ Still not sure about volunteering?
