Everyone at Doorway was extremely saddened to learn that our former colleague and friend, Pat Dickens, lost her battle for life on 19th March 2024 after a short illness and our heartfelt condolences go out to her family.

Pat was a longstanding member of our team and worked here for just over 21 years. She was committed to helping local young people who experience homelessness and fundraised tirelessly so that Doorway could continue our services. She ‘sort of’ retired in 2020 but continued to support Doorway as much as possible through fundraising and helping to organise our very first Crowdfunder.

Many of you will remember Pat for different reasons such as the sleep out, appearing in our Doorway film and tombola stalls to name a but a few among the many. We also remember her as a dedicated and loyal member of the team as well as being a constant source of support to us all. Her commitment to Doorway was second to none. We miss her so much and remember the laughter - even when times could be difficult, she always managed to see the funny side of things. We will never forget her.

Pat’s family are holding a celebration of her life on Friday 19 April from 6pm onwards at The Coniston Tavern Pallett Drive Nuneaton CV11 6JT so that people can raise a glass in Pat’s memory.
