A Helping Hand from Higham Lane Pupils Year 12’s from Higham Lane Sixth Form organised and delivered a wonderful fundraising fair in aid of Doorway on Monday 16th July. Despite the bad weather forcing the event indoors the invited pupils from the High School were entertained with cakes and drinks and a range of activities including Guess the Teacher, with several teachers supplying childhood photos with the students left to guess who was who. There was a tombola and the opportunity to decorate a plant pot for the Doorway Gardens. One of the most popular options was the chance to take a penalty against teachers, who faced an array of shots. One brave year 7 decided she wanted a turn in goal and stopped all shots against her. This was just the first day of the fundraising, many of the stalls were going to reopen on Tuesday for the Year 12’s to visit and Higham Lane is hosting a wake-a-thon which will see students and teachers staying awake for 24 hours to raise money for Doorway. Congratulations to everyone who organised these wonderful events. Manage Cookie Preferences
