Our story

Doorway has been working with vulnerable young people in Warwickshire since 1997. From our office base in Bedworth, we initially concentrated our services in the local Borough Council area of Nuneaton and Bedworth. In 2000, we started working with young people in the neighbouring borough of North Warwickshire. Over the years we have increased the number of private landlords who make accommodation available to young people on our waiting list.

Currently there are six areas in Warwickshire ranked within the top 10% most deprived areas nationally, on the overall Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007. These are all located within Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council area and this reinforces the importance of the work that we do. Over the last 10 years we have given over 1500 advice sessions to over 2500 vulnerable young people at our drop in sessions in Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire. Through use of the internet and e-mail we now have a number of young people from other areas contacting us for advice.
